Can a 50mA x ray machine be upgraded to a digital imaging system to capture the lumbar spine?
A client recently asked Newheek to upgrade the 50mA x ray machine to a digital imaging system.
He has a 50mA power frequency X-ray machine and uses traditional liquid medicine to develop film to simulate the imaging system. However, during the use, he found that the results of taking pictures of the lumbar spine for patients were not satisfactory ,and the images that came out were not very clear. The client knew that the digital imaging system was better than the analog imaging system, so he asked us if the 50mA x ray machine he was using could be upgraded to the digital imaging system to shoot the lumbar spine.
We explained to the client that the digital imaging system can improve the image sharpness, mainly through the software adjustment of color contrast to highlight the areas we want to observe carefully. But 50 mA machine power frequency dosage is too small, many times before the customer mainly by extending the exposure time and exposure to photograph, but prolonged shooting exposure can cause internal organs exercise affects image resolution, its rays enough to shoot through lumbar area, especially in obese patients, so lumbar parts not as clear as shooting her limbs.
If the client has the diagnostic need of shooting the lumbar spine, we suggest the client to change the camera with a higher dose. Newheek provides a variety of models of the x ray machine. If you are also interested, welcome to call for consultation.
